Maple Syrup Program
Every year during the month of March
programs are available for school groups or guided
tours.
Educational Programming includes a
tour through a spile and pail sugar
bush and into the interior of Springwater Forest. It concludes at the
authentic Sugar Shanty where participants are shown the various methods of
manufacturing Maple Syrup.
Students learn from discovery and are
introduced to the native
method, pioneer approach, and modern system of tapping trees and
boiling sap into syrup. A
variety of maple syrup products will be made available for purchase at the
Shanty.
