BRIEF SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Mr. Kim Smale
General Manager/Secretary-Treasurer
Responsible for directing, coordinating and evaluating the
development and execution of the programs and policies of the Conservation
Authority. Acts as the Authority's Flood Coordinator. Directs and coordinates
the preparation of the budget and assesses and evaluates project priorities.
Responsible for the duties of Secretary-Treasurer as outlined under the
Conservation Authorities Act.
Susan Mann
Financial Services Coordinator
Responsible for managing the financial affairs of the
Conservation Authority, developing and
maintaining appropriate financial record keeping and accounting methods.
Liaising with internal and external financial
audit units and insuring that financial audits are performed in compliance with
provincial policy and procedure. Assisting with the preparation of the
Authority"s budget. Maintains employee records and implements payroll
procedures. Responsible for Financial and Administration duties associated with
the operation of the store and registration centres at the Springwater
Conservation Area.
Ed Pietrzak
Conservation Areas Supervisor
Responsible for maintaining, operation, and development of the
Authority's land holdings. Coordinates and implements fish and wildlife projects on Authority-owned lands. Implements all preventative, routine, and minor
maintenance of the Springwater Dam. Develops, coordinates, and implements the
Authority’s Environmental Education Programs. Organizes and provides operational
support for special events.
Tony Difazio
Resource Planning Coordinator
Responsible for the administration of the Authority’s
Development Interference with Wetlands and Alterations to Shorelines and
Watercourses Regulation (also known as Generic Regulations) and Municipal Plan Review
Program. Coordinates Woodlot Management Programs on private, municipal, and
Authority-owned lands. Coordinates watershed planning programs, projects, and
initiatives. Collects field data and assists with the preparation of Management
Plans for the Managed Forest Tax Incentive Program. Provides technical support
to the water and related land management programs of the Conservation Authority.
Peter Dragunas
Water Management Technician
Responsible for implementing the Authority’s Flood Warning
and Forecasting Program. Implements the dredging, ice monitoring, and channel
sounding components of the Ice Management Program. Coordinates and implements
the Reforestation Program on private and municipal lands.
Assume the lead role with respect to the
Authority’s GIS Program capabilities and development. Coordinate and implement
all new water quality and quantity initiatives and programs (ie. Provincial
Ground Water Monitoring, Ontario Low Water Response, Provincial Water Quality
Monitoring Network, OGS Groundwater Resource Inventory Mapping Project, Source
Water Protection, etc.)
Laura Ronayne
Program Support Assistant
Assists with the revenue producing and administration aspects
of the Springwater Conservation Area and provides reception and clerical duties
for the overall operation of the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority.

Wellwood
Communications/Fundraising Coordinator
Responsible for acquiring funding for CCCA projects through
contacts with foundations, government, business and individual donors. Handles
communications activities through all media, and is part of the Source Water
Protection Communications team for the Lake Erie Source water Protection Region.
Works on publications and community outreach functions.
