FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
JUNE CALLWOOD VOLUNTEER AWARD
VICTOR HERRINGTON
Aylmer, ON January 28, 2021 – The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority (CCCA), happily announces the recognition given to the CCCA’s longest-standing volunteer, Victor Herrington. January 27th, 2021 in a virtual event the Ontario Government, through the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism, and Culture Industries, recognized the exceptional contributions of Mr. Herrington through the June Callwood Outstanding Achievement Award for Voluntarism.
Victor Herrington is a dedicated member and resident of the village of Sparta, as well as the CCCA’s longest-standing volunteer. He has put in three to five days a week of hard work and in-kind labor for the last 21 years contributing to the success of the CCCA’s many programs and services. The outstanding work ethic of Victor Herrington is amplified through his many contributions including to the CCCA, the St. Thomas Raceway Park, and his neighborly attitude within Sparta and beyond communities.
“Victor Herrington is a local celebrity within both the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority and the village of Sparta. He is an upstanding citizen within his community helping with whatever he can to whoever asks for help. I would highly suggest Victor Herrington for this award as I could not think of another soul more deserving.” says Dusty Underhill, Conservation Areas Supervisor and good friend of Victor’s.
“The focus for Victor is not money, business, or financial success; it is instead, our reputation as a community-based organization, providing an outstanding experience to every one of our visitors, and living every single day with happiness. The respect I have for Victor started when I was 16 and saw this old man working at the same pace I was. It has grown into an appreciation and friendship that I value every day at work.” adds Emily Febrey, Community Outreach Technician, someone who has been guided by Victor for over ten years.
The CCCA appreciates the hard work and dedication of Victor Herrington every day because the running of Springwater Conservation Area and the CCCA would not be as smooth without the helping hand of Victor Herrington.
Many thanks to Victor Herrington.
