Effective immediately, the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority (CCCA) is issuing a Watershed Condition Statement for the shoreline of Lake Erie within CCCA’s jurisdictional boundary.
Today, Tonight, and Saturday:
Winds 50 to 60km/hr from the southwest starting early Saturday morning that will persist all day with potential gusts of 70-90km/hr by Saturday afternoon. Winds will diminish Saturday evening when they shift to the west. Rainfall amounts of up to 25 to 45 mm are expected in the area beginning Friday evening and continuing into Saturday.
Residents are asked to closely watch local conditions and take appropriate responsible action, and are urged to use caution and stay away from Lake Erie shoreline areas experiencing strong wave action and elevated water levels. Parents are reminded to keep children and pets away from these areas.
This Watershed Condition Statement for the Lake Erie Shoreline and CCCA watershed will remain in effect until 8:30 a.m. on Monday, December 13, 2021.
This is a reminder to be diligent, and watch local weather conditions and to take appropriate action when circumstances require.
CCCA continues to monitor watershed conditions and will issue updates and recommendations when or if necessary. CCCA always recommends taking any necessary precautions.
