REMEMBERING A BOARD MEMBER

Aylmer, ON June 21, 2021 – The Catfish Creek Conservation Authority (CCCA), was sadly informed about the passing of its former Board Member, Mark Wayne Tinlin, last Sunday morning. Mr. Tinlin represented the City of St. Thomas on the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority’s Board from November 2014 until early 2020 when he stepped down.

Mark Tinlin played an important role at the City of St. Thomas as a Councillor and as a Board Member for the CCCA, through his passion for the communities he served, history and science. Mr. Tinlin was always quick with a fun antidote or story during his time on the board and always was a warm and happy face to see during those sometimes long meetings. Mr. Tinlin was also a professional and passionate man, who put hard work into every and all the Clubs, Committees and Boards he assisted with. The outstanding dedication of Mark Tinlin is amplified through the long list of organizations he was a part of, including London City Police, St. John Ambulance Society, Elgin Regiment Association, and the Royal Heraldic Society of Canada to name a few.

“Mark was very dedicated, very passionate about the environment and Catfish Creek. Mark wanted to make sure that even though we [CCCA] are a small conservation authority, we should strive to be the best in Ontario. His insight was so broad and he was an absolute benefit to the CCCA board.” says Rick Cerna, Chairperson of the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority Board.

The CCCA Staff and Board appreciate the dedication of Mark Tinlin during his service as Councillor and Board Member and pass along sympathy and memories to reminisce to Mrs. Tinlin, their children and families during this sad time.

Many thanks to Mark Tinlin and the service he provided to the Catfish Creek Conservation Authority and watershed.
